Dr. Dyan Hes is a Board-Certified Pediatrician and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). Recognized as one of New York’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly since 2010 and a recipient of the Exceptional Women in Medicine award from 2019 to 2024, Dr. Hes is excited to return to private practice.
Dr. Hes completed her residency in Social Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where she combined her passion for public health and medicine. For ten years Dr. Hes worked as pediatric emergency room physician in Brooklyn, NY and additionally, she served for eight years as a Director of the ABOM.
As a primary care pediatrician, Dr. Hes provides comprehensive care for children from birth through college, with a special focus on pediatric and young adult obesity. She has a deep commitment to supporting children with obesity and special needs, as well as assisting families of picky eaters and those facing nutritional challenges.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Hes is also a respected medical correspondent for CBS News and a regular medical contributor to major news networks, including FOX5NY and FOX News. She frequently shares her expertise on pediatric topics in leading news publications. In addition, she serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Grain Foods Foundation.
A longtime member of the Chelsea community, Dr. Hes is often spotted running around the neighborhood with her college-aged son and daughter, her two dogs—or both! She looks forward to continuing to serve her neighbors with compassionate, expert pediatric care and a deep commitment to children's health and well-being.
